Edited, Not Optimized

Batch Theory Exchange

Why curation beats algorithms

Most subscriptions optimize for sameness. Fewer surprises. Fewer complaints. Maximum retention.

That's not what this is.

The Exchange is edited the same way a magazine is edited. We choose what belongs now, not what performs best in aggregate. Some releases will be quieter. Some will divide opinion. All of them are intentional.

Experimental Lot is a good example. It isn't here because it polls well. It's here because it's interesting—because it shows process in motion and flavor in flux.

If you want optimization, there are better systems for that.

If you want taste with an opinion, this is one of them.
